Lighting for Portraiture

LIGHTING TECHNIQUES. HANDS-ON PORTFOLIO BUILDING. POST-PROCESSING. BUSINESS COACHING.

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE YOUR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Join us at Connor's Studio in Downtown Colorado Springs for a full weekend diving into the subjects of using flash in your portraiture, retouching, and tips for creating a successful photography business. Learn about concepts from the basic science behind how light acts to how to create masterfully lit scenes. Our curriculum goes far beyond covering the basics of lighting and into practical instruction on how to light for a wide variety of situations. You will learn to light for single portraits on location, and for small group portraits such as families. In addition we will show you how to set up and shoot a number of more complex, multiple light setups for use in creating refined headshots as well as for creating gorgeous fine art portraiture. We teach a structured way to think about lighting that will enable you to experiment with different lighting diagrams and setups for years to come. The second half of the intensive will be spent showing you how to retouch and refine your images into editorial quality works of art that any client would be thrilled to receive. Finally participants will sit in on an in depth discussion on how to attract the right kinds of clients, setting effective pricing, and growing a sustainable business to a scale that will allow you to pursue your financial goals and provide a rewarding career or side business built around your passion.
